Andy Buckle’s Film Emporium
With daily updates and a diverse array of content, Andy Buckle’s Film Emporium is my personal take on the world of film. Film is my passion, it’s what I love to talk and write about, and reviewing all eras and genres of film has transformed into my life.
I started writing regularly on this blog in March 2010, but due to previous employment, I had limited time to work on it. Since December of 2010, when I started contributing to Anomalous Material, my readership has steeply progressed. I have my close friends and supporters to thank for this, and the ever-present inspiration of my fellow film bloggers, who have shown general interest in what I had to say about the medium.
I am an aspiring film and entertainment journalist and critic. I live in an Inner West suburb of Sydney, Australia and work part-time at my local cinema. I have an Arts degree in Film Studies at the University of Sydney, but my knowledge of film has mostly emerged through a dedication to the medium and self-motivation towards my blogging.
Throughout Film Emporium, you will find a collection of new release, classic and foreign film reviews, extensive festival and awards coverage, up-to-date film news and trailers, film theory essays, lists and general recommendations on what you should be seeing.
I try and review at least two new releases each week, so you can keep up to date with what’s worth seeing at the cinema. I also throw in some insight on classic film, sometimes focusing on a specific director and working through their catalogue.
