Upcoming Documentary To Enter The World Of Bruce Lee
An upcoming documentary exploring the life and impact of the legendary Bruce Lee is set to receive a limited theatrical release in the UK later next month, FreeMantle Media Enterprises have confirmed.
I Am Bruce Lee will utilise rare archive footage, photos, movie clips and brand new interviews with members of Lee’s close family, as well as an impressive array of talking heads from the worlds of acting, music and sport to explore the true story behind the iconic martial arts master.
Directed by award-winning documentary film-maker Pete McCormack and featuring interviews with the likes of Mickey Rourke, Ed O’Neil, basketball star Kobe Bryant, Lee’s wife and daughter and a host of fellow martial artists including MMA fighter Gina Carano and former wrestling and judo world champion Gene LeBell, I Am Bruce Lee will thoroughly investigate the wide-reaching impact the star, who died in 1973, continues to have on popular culture.
Of particular interest to long-time Bruce Lee fans will be the inclusion of rare clips from some of the more obscure corners of the man’s career, such as his appearance in TV series Here Come The Brides, previously unreleased colour footage of Lee at Ed Parker’s Long Beach Karate Tournament and extensive footage of his training in the back yard of his Bel Air home.
I Am Bruce Lee will open in selected cinemas on 20th July 2012.
