Teaser Released For Le Guetteur
An exciting teaser trailer has been released for Michele Placido’s new thriller, Le Guetteur.
Produced by StudioCanal and directed by Michele Placido, who is best known for his work in Italy both acting and directing, Le Guetteur follows the story of detective Mattei, played by Daniel Auteuil, who has launched a manhunt to catch a lone marksman, played by Mathieu Kassovitz, guilty of foiling a police ambush to catch a notorious gang of bank robbers. The gang escapes the scene of the crime seemingly unscathed, although one of the robbers is in fact injured and their getaway plan jeopardised, and so the manhunt begins.
Interestingly, this is Placido’s first French language film, and he engages with France’s rich film history in stating that Le Guetteur is a film that is “harking back to the great French actioners of the 1960s.”
Set to be released in France on 12th September 2012, we’re eagerly anticipating its UK release. Check out the trailer below.
