Finnish Second World War drama set in Russian Karelia, near the Finnish border.
Lieutenant Eero Perkola (Peter Franzen) is sent on a reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines, leaving his fiancee Kaarina Vainikainen (Irina Bjorklund) behind to serve in the Women’s Auxilary Corps.
Later, when tragic news reaches the young lieutenant, he throws caution to the wind and becomes alarmingly oblivious to the safety and wellbeing of himself and his platoon.
