8th London Spanish Film Festival Announced
The London Spanish Film Festival launches its 8th edition with an extraordinary line-up of recent Spanish films, most of them UK premieres and a unique opportunity to view them in London.
From engaging thrillers to exhilarating comedies, from moving dramas and action movies to documentaries and shorts, this selection evidences the compelling variety of Spanish cinema in all its richness. Some of the films will be presented by their filmmakers and actors, coming from all corners of Spain to be available to answer questions from the public.
Luis Tosar, one of Spain’s most outstanding actors, will be the subject of a special feature and will appear for a special on-stage interview. Also featured is an examination of the acting registers promoted by Pedro Almodóvar, with a small selection of his films introduced by their actors. Finally, this year a feature named “A Treasure From the Archives” will be introduced, clearing space to re-discover forgotten gems from Spanish cinema.
The Festival will run from 28th September to 10th October 2012. Screenings and events will take place at Ciné Lumière, with some additional screenings at Instituto Cervantes and International House. More information can be found on the official festival website.
