Beautifully restored, uncut and uncensored, both films will be available as dual format editions from Monday, 20th May 2013 – and we have 3 copies up for grabs!

Renowned as one of Europe’s leading figures in softcore erotic filmmaking, Brass has earned a worldwide reputation for his blend of artiness and thematic extremity.

After joining the Italian film industry in the early 1960s, Brass worked alongside the likes of Federico Fellini (whom Tinto idolised) and Roberto Rossellini, before directing his debut solo feature in 1963.

It was not until ‘76 that Brass would experience worldwide recognition, when Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione chose him to direct Caligula. Despite numerous editing and post-production issues, which caused Brass to disown the film, it made millions at the box office and ultimately gained him global notoriety.

Known for his lush but unconventional eroticism, often with political or social undertones, Brass went on to direct a string of highly acclaimed erotic features, two of which, The Key and All Ladies Do It, have been hand-picked by Arrow to receive their UK Blu-ray premieres.

These two dual format editions include brand new uncut and uncensored versions of each film, which have been painstakingly restored for Blu-ray and DVD. They also include both the Italian and English audio tracks, together for the very first time on a home entertainment release.

All Ladies Do It

This version of the film is the longest version ever released in the UK. The stunning Claudia Koll indulges her unquenchable sexual appetite in this softcore epic – loosely inspired by the Mozart opera Così fan tutte (the title is a direct translation).

Diana (Claudia Koll) and Paolo (Paolo Lanza) are happily married despite her much greater sexual appetite – he’s content to simply listen to the stories of her various adventures. But, when she has an affair that’s much too close to home, he throws her out, and she moves into a Venetian flat to embark upon an erotic voyage of sexual discovery, while at the same time trying to win him back.

All Ladies Do It tackles a crucial question: why shouldn’t women enjoy the same sexual freedom that they’ve long had to tolerate in their men? Especially when they have such shapely and inviting rears?

Once again, Tinto Brass proves his unmatched skill at balancing eroticism and humour in this lively and beautifully photographed comedy, both wittier and more sexually explicit than the average softcore romp.

The Key

Tinto Brass’s first major film since the notorious “Caligula” stars Frank Finlay as a man who is terrified of losing his voluptuous wife Teresa (Stefania Sandrelli) because he is unable to satisfy her sexually. He arranges for her to have an affair, by taking erotic photographs of her and asking her would-be lover to develop them. Meanwhile, he keeps abreast of her burgeoning relationship by reading her diary, in the full knowledge that she in turn is reading his…

One of Brass’s most critically acclaimed films, The Key is also one of his most elegant, with wintry Venetian locations, a beautiful Ennio Morricone score and a strong sense of period – it’s set in 1940, just before Mussolini’s Italy entered World War II.

As with previous critically acclaimed releases, including George A. Romero’s Knightriders, Mario Bava’s Baron Blood and Lucio Fulci’s Zombie Flesh Eaters, Motel Hell has been given the ‘Arrow treatment’.
“It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent fritters” cackle Vincent and Ida Smith, the brother-and-sister team behind the finest smoked meats in the county.

Set in a fictitious town in the Deep South, people come from far and wide to sample Vincent’s distinctively flavoured produce, but one might well ask why so few of them decide to stay at the near-by motel the family also runs.

Affectionately named ‘Motel Hello’ (although the ‘o’ in the neon sign frequently goes on the blink), passers-by do occasionally check-in…but they NEVER check-out! Something to do with Farmer Vincent’s secret ingredient perhaps, the thing that makes his fritters taste so darn good?

Western veteran Rory Calhoun gives a lipsmackingly demented performance as Farmer Vincent, whose twinkling bonhomie conceals a deeply depraved secret…

Courtesy of Metrodome Distribution, we have 3 copies of their latest world cinema war mystery Frozen Silence to giveaway. A battalion of the Spanish Blue Division runs into several horses’ heads scattered over the frozen surface of a lake. The bodies are submerged under the ice. Beside one of the horses lies the corpse of a Spanish soldier. His throat is slit and carved into his shoulder with a knife are the words, “See that God sees you.” His superiors order soldier Arturo Andrade (Juan Diego Botto), a former police inspector, to investigate the matter. He takes on the task with professional rigor, aided by Sargeant Estrada (Carmelo Gómez). They soon discover that what is behind the murder is a perverse vengeance for insults made in the past and it looks one dead body is only the beginning. No-one is free of suspicion and no-one is safe.
